Travis Kerns, MA, LPC

 

I’m a transplant to the UK who moved here in 2009 to enjoy Europe’s culture, be closer to family, and appreciate the recreation opportunities that our region (Wales) offers.  I’m passionate about counseling, and find that I do best when I’m feeling balanced myself.  When not working, I’m likely to be practicing my own self-care; hiking in the hills nearby, riding my bike around the country lanes or on the trails, or maybe catching a movie.

 

I hold the following professional credentials, which are maintained each year:

 

LPC: Licensed Professional Counselor (Lic. # C2313, Oregon, United States)

MA: Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, Lewis & Clark College (Oregon)

CADC I: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (Oregon)

CGAC II: Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor (Oregon)

NCC:  National Certified Counselor (United States)

NCGC II:  National Certified Gambling Counselor (United States)

 

I am currently in the process of achieving additional certifications in Great Britain.

 

In addition to my online practice, I provide face to face counseling in Cardiff and Bristol in Great Britain.  I also work for an agency in the UK assisting people with gambling problems, as well as their spouses or family members.  I’ve enjoyed this job for the constant opportunities it gives me to help high-functioning, intelligent clients achieve greater insight and begin to improve their lives.  I continue to attend numerous professional trainings each year to stay on top of the counseling field, but it’s also through my own life experience living in various countries that I’m able to connect with a wide range of diverse and interesting people.  I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
